United Martial Arts Academy measures success in
character traits such as:
Our programs offer visible rewards - the colored belts that are symbol of higher level of expertise in the martial arts, and patches that honor accomplishment of specific projects and achievement of increased dedication and training. We also understand the deeper needs of our students for intangible rewards. Recognition for a job well done. Encouragement to continue when things seem difficult. Congratulation for goals attained or awards earned. So we match our high expectations with strong support. As our students see that we believe in them, they learn to believe in themselves.
Structured programs:
By using structured programs of instructions, United Martial Arts Academy teaches students to think instead of panicking in threatening or potentially dangerous situations. Often, simply knowing what they can do if challenged produces the courage to avoid trouble. If trouble cannot be avoided, our students learn to defend themselves from would-be assailants, but we stress defensive actions rather than aggression.
Our programs also help students perform beter in other sports by improving their coordination and concentration. Even schoolwork often improves as self-discipline, confidence, and respect become a way of life.
